American entrepreneur David Marcus, who has been Meta’s head of cryptocurrencies for the last several years, announced his retirement on his Twitter account.
When asked what his next stage of professional work would look like, the 49-year-old director didn’t provide any details. Meanwhile, he stated that he was looking forward to “something fresh and interesting” in the months to come.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta (formerly known as Facebook) also shared his thoughts on the planned changes. He praised Marcus for being a “versatile leader” who has guided the organisation to several victories over the years.
We could not have taken this step forward without your leadership. I appreciate that you made us feel like Meta is the place where we can do these big things.
he said.
On the other hand, Marcus expressed the hope that Stephane Kasriel would be a capable replacement for himself.
Kasriel’s experience has been influential on his success as an entrepreneur. Kasriel has seen firsthand how the internet can accelerate innovation, contributing to more efficient processes and more effective communication between businesses and consumers.
