Disney is seeking a lawyer for emerging technologies such as NFTs and metaverse

The Walt Disney Company is looking to hire a seasoned corporate attorney to assist with deals using emerging technologies including non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as part of its plans to increase its presence in the Web3 space.

According to a LinkedIn posting from The Walt Disney Company’s Legal Department’s Corporate Transactions Group on September 25th, they are seeking to fill the position.

The lawyer is expected to provide full-service legal advice and representation for NFT products sold around the globe. All of this is accomplished while collaborating closely with other Disney lawyers and different business stakeholders.

The Principal Counsel must cooperate with the different business divisions as they prepare the “accelerated and aggressive” deployment of new global emerging technology projects.

Disney is seeking a candidate for the role of legal counsel with a minimum of five to eight years of expertise managing and executing major corporate transactions and experience working in a big multinational law firm with a globally known corporate practice.

Overall, this new job opportunity demonstrates Disney’s study of the Web3 environment, and the company’s efforts to prevent losing out on the NFT and metaverse craze. The CEO of Disney described the company’s ambition for the metaverse as “next-generation storytelling” only two weeks ago.
