Swissquote, Switzerland’s most prominent online bank, is launching its own crypto exchange.
Switzerland is famous for its banking secrecy. However, this country has embraced cryptocurrencies to stay relevant in the digital world. Swissquote, the country’s biggest online bank, is apparently planning to develop its own crypto trading platform.
One of the top executives of Swissquote, Jan De Schepper, has revealed to a news outlet that the company wants to create its own cryptocurrency exchange by the end of the first quarter in 2022. He went on to say that Swissquote aspires to be the most trusted source of digital assets in Switzerland.
We intend to increase the number of cryptocurrencies that can be traded on our platform.
he said.
As part of its cryptocurrency offerings, the company also want to provide stablecoins and staking services.
The Swiss bank currently offers 24 cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple XRP, etc. There’s a huge number of cryptocurrency options for you to choose from.
Since last spring, Swissquote has been employing to keep up with the surge in demand for cryptocurrencies, and De Schepper confirmed that the company would continue to hire to drive future growth.
During the first six months of 2021, the company’s net revenue from cryptocurrency investments surged by more than 1,000 per cent, reaching 63.2 million Swiss francs.
