Google Announces A new crypto ads policy

The digital currency market has some exciting news. Now Google is running crypto ads. This is all due to the August 3rd update of Google’s policy about promoting financial products.

Google had banned all cryptocurrency-related advertisements three years ago in March 2018. But later, Google decided to allow advertisements on their platform for a few specific categories of crypto markets.

Google’s announcement of a new policy of ad placements for financial products and services has now been implemented. The internet giant has posted the following notice:

Beginning August 3, advertisers offering cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets targeting the United States may advertise those products and services when they meet the following requirements and are certified by Google.

Google will only approve advertisers who are either registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as money service businesses or state-chartered banks. Advertisers must adhere to all applicable legal requirements. Their crypto ads and landing pages must comply with Google’s advertising policies.

Yet, the company continues to ban ICO ads and DeFi trading protocols. They also do not allow the promotion or sale of cryptocurrencies. A ban also applies to celebrity recommendations for cryptocurrency data. Google hopes this will help to solve problems associated with fake recommendations by famous people.
