T. Rowe Price Hires Digital Assets Strategist

The former director of digital assets and commodities operations at WisdomTree joins the biggest cryptocurrency exchange.

Thursday, Blue Macellari announced on LinkedIn that she had joined T. Rowe Price as head of digital assets strategy.

According to her LinkedIn, Macellari has been a managing partner at crypto hedge fund business Dunamis Trading for more than four years. There, she established and co-managed a crypto market-neutral vehicle for Dunamis and defined the organization’s strategy.

As of 30 June, T. Rowe Price handled $1.3 trillion in assets. A corporate poll in April revealed that forty percent of youngsters think cryptocurrency is the future of investment. Given the magnitude of digital asset markets, a T. Rowe Price spokeswoman told Blockworks at the time that their influence on capital markets cannot be overlooked.

Bitcoin exchange OKX promoted Frederica Tompkins to director of brand marketing and Kim Murphy to the position of director of events.

Tompkins joins OKX after working for Chanel and Ralph Lauren. Murphy has a background in event production and charity, where she assisted in the organisation of concerts, conferences, and intimate gatherings.

OKX has partnered with Manchester City, McLaren Racing, and the Tribeca Festival this year. Rachel Conlan has been leading brand marketing and partnerships for the exchange worldwide since her hiring earlier this year.

OKX’s hire of female executives coincides with its joint research with LinkedIn indicating a shortage of IT expertise and women in the blockchain business. In June, the study revealed that there were around four times as many males as women in the industry.
