Varun Yadav, a banking professional based in London, fell victim to an alleged online fraud orchestrated by a woman he met on a matrimonial website. Going by the name Rekha Shah (also known as Ankita Shah), she introduced Yadav to a cryptocurrency investment platform called deuncoin.com.
Yadav shared his experience with MintGenie, revealing that he subsequently invested money on the platform. Upon conducting further research online, Yadav discovered that he was not alone in being deceived. Several others had also fallen prey to similar scams.
Another instance of such fraud occurred in Bengaluru, where a 37-year-old man encountered a woman named Megha Raghavan on a matrimonial site and ended up losing ₹76.2 lakh, as reported by Deccan Herald.
In a review of Deuncoin.vip, Scamadviser warns potential investors to exercise caution when dealing with this platform. The review highlights that “m.deuncoin.vip has a very low trust score, indicating a strong likelihood that the website is a scam. Be very careful when using this website!”
